Steve Carlino

Steven “Steve” Carlino died peacefully at home with his loved ones by his side on February 28, 2021, in Corpus Christi, Texas at the age of 64 following a long, heroic battle with cancer.

Steve is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Lorena “Lori”; children: Susan (Christopher) Boyd, Judith (Benjamin) Bekerman, Jillian (Melia) McFarland, and Gregory Jordan; brother: Michael (Marion) Carlino; Grandchildren: Lucas Boyd, Finley Bekerman, and Ellis McFarland. He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Betty Carlino, and his beloved dog-children: Dudley, Katie, Joshua, and Lizzie.

Steve was born on October 26, 1956 in New York, New York. He married Lori in Connecticut in 1993. Steve and Lori were baptized together on October 4, 1998 and thus began his lifelong spiritual walk with Christ. Steve’s children remember him as an intelligent, strong, funny, and silly father. He taught his children to pursue their goals; puns are an excellent form of humor; you can make a song out of anything; always to adopt their pets; and to be kind--especially to one another.

He worked many years in the power and energy sectors. Most recently Steve opened and operated a cleaning franchise (Office Pride) where he was known for his willingness to work hard, grow others professionally, and his unfailing cheer in the face of a terminal illness. He was an individual who loved all creatures great and small, and who was passionate about animal rescue. This included many years working with DFW Cocker Spaniel Rescue. Steve was an active and dedicated member of the Fellowship of Oso Creek, where he served as an elder and a dedicated small group leader. Steve also had an immense faith in God, which he demonstrated throughout his life and later during his illness.

Visitation will be held 6PM - 8PM, Friday March 5, at Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service, 5921 Yorktown Boulevard, Corpus Christi, TX 78414. The memorial service will be held at the Fellowship of Oso Creek, 7402 Yorktown Boulevard, Corpus Christi, TX 78414 at 11AM on March 6, 2021. Pastor and friend Matthew Brennan will officiate the memorial. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Steve’s life, as it was full and well-lived. Steve will be interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 2301 North Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76111. Flowers are appreciated or donations can be sent to Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHSCC.org). The family would like to thank Harbor Hospice of Gulf Coast for their care and consistent efforts to keep him comfortable in his final days.
